I realized that I hadnt mentioned much about my transition here in Kansas after our move in April.
It has long been a desire of mine to work for Red Marionette (and dabble in freelance or contract work here and there) as a full time job. I am always brimming with ideas and never had enough time to make as much product as I wanted to. I have been working full blown Red Marionette anywhere from 15 to 40 hours a week for the last several years, on top of a full time job.
Kyle and I knew we were at a crux with the business - It (I) was maxed out with spreading my time around. I couldnt possibly do any more without making it a full time priority - and yet year after year we keep selling out around the Holidays the stock I had made the entire year.
We took that as a good sign and decided that when we moved to Kansas in April I would give it a go as a full time gig. A little like jumping from the branch and learning to fly on the way down, but I have the business skills, ideas and savings in place. Now or never.
So, I have been officially self employed full time for the last 7 weeks.
I have introduced a lot of new stock, revamped the store and am going full steam ahead on product for the Holidays.
I hope to eventually share the things I learn (hard way or otherwise) as we go. This is a new adventure in our lives that I was remiss in sharing with you earlier! All of you 188 current followers of the blog and many more that read this. This gigantic news should have been shared earlier and I apologize for not. I really think it clicked this week that this is it. I am doing it. Its building up and slowly working! Whoo hoo!
So now I am sharing with you all the big step we took and the unknown future.
I hope you all are having a wonderful start to June!
And thank you all for your support over the last couple years!

Congratulations!!! I did that last year and made Bead Lovers Korner my full time job - I don't make as much money, but I am soooo much happier. The money will come, and always does when I really need it.
I applaud your big business move! It's gutsy, but very rewarding if you can make it work. Now, I'm just realizing it is June, and I have a full plate of crafting I need to chow down on!!!
CRAFT ON!!!
You go girl! I'm happy for you. I hope it works out swimmingly. I'd like to set up my own shop, but I just don't know where to begin. It's all so overwhelming! But anyway, congrats on being your own boss. :) Hope to see you when you come up here!
Congratulations! I have finally taken the big leap myself. I'm so happy for you. Good Luck and much success to you
