A second love

I love vintage papers and trims and little goodies to make tags and...its just...wow! It takes me back to a time when things were different, sometimes a time I wasnt born yet. I opened a second shop recently to showcase all of he goodies I have collected, or wish to share with all of you crafters out there! Reusing or Adding elements to your crafts that are from a different time give it a level of intrique that store bought items do not have. You can make with these things something that NO ONE else will ever have! That fascinates me!

Odd Little Goodies is the name of the shop. It is, of course, on Etsy!
Its a bit more quirky than Red Marionette. A more free writing artistic weirdo style of a shop. Read the shop announcement and you will see the tone set for the store! I want to share my wonderful finds with you all!
In the future (Hopefully by summer, and after our move) I can start listing little tag sets and goodies that can be used for embellishments. I have many ideas with stamps, illustrations, inks. It wont be only supplies and trims, it will be little lovely paper and fabric creations.
I am continually adding more goodies and if you have any questions about it feel free to contact me at oddlittlegoodies@yahoo.com

Have a wonderful week everyone! Here is to new discoveries!

Know Anyone?

Alright - I have come down on the price for our show tent!
We are asking $275 for the beastie!
Anyone who has shopped for an EZ up tent before knows that to get a nice one you need to spend $250 or so. This one would be an amazing addition to all of your spring/summer shows! It needs a good home because we are moving in the spring!
Yes, we are moving. I will do another blog post on that when I get some more time, but for now this beautiful tent needs a good home at a super cheap price!

As recommended by some of my friends: Someone could purchase this and rent it out for parties or shows!
Here is some further information on my craigslist posting:

Thanks so much guys for looking! :) Have a lovely day!

Action Adventure, Sci-Fi, Oh my!

I often wonder what others watch or listen to while they are crafting.
I have such an overload of cuteness that I work with on a regular basis with Red Marionette that I find myself favoring action adventure - horror - sci-fi type things.
I have always been a huge fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, etc. I love their movies so I watch things like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Running Man, Commando, Death Race, etc.
I know it seems a little funny to have such blood guts and gore going on while making such bright and colorful goodies but I find it balances me out! :)

Granted, there are times when The Princess and the Frog or The Adventures of Baron Munchausen makes its way on to the screen.... but the majority of the time is my beefy action men!

What do you all watch or listen to while you are crafting?

Wall Art, Sneak Peeks and a Broken Video Card?!

Well there is a lot brewing at the Red Marionette household but one of my New Years resolutions to myself is to post more content on my blog. Not just saying Hi or little updates...but with PHOTOS! Everyone loves behind the scene photos and work in progress photos and it feels like I get to share a bit of the ME that is behind the shop. So I solemnly swear to try harder to take little photos for the blog.. EVEN if it is cell phone photos which are so much easier to upload to the blog than the digital camera.

That being said, these are a few of the upcoming wall art pieces that I have finished and need to mount. Our main computer that has the photo editing software on it decided to not cooperate last night. Mr. Red Marionette thinks that the video card is no longer working. So it may be a week or so before I can list much new stuff if we have to get a new video card. Boo. It cant be helped, unfortunately.

We also have decided on when the Mobiles will be released! Hooray! They will be debuted to the world in late April! I will have owl versions that you can order in custom colors. I will also have a Zoo, Woodland Friends, Monsters and other versions! Some will be ready to ship and others will be custom orders. I am super excited!

Here is another sneak peek of the super cute mobile that was gifted to a friend!
Doesnt that just make you go "Squeee!"?

Also coming soon are more of these little cuties!
Monster Wall art sets! Monster Mayhem!

April will come soon enough, there is a lot that has to happen for our family and Red Marionette between now and then!

More updates for you all soon!

Playing Catchup!

Hello out there!

I thought I would show you all what I have been up to! Thats right! Those are gallon ziploc bags of bodies (no details yet) of critters that are awaiting the life to be breathed in to them! I have two others I havent photographed yet.
They are just the beginning of the amount of goodies I need to restock this year.

I made Mr. RedMarionette promise to keep me on track this year with the production of critters. I want this year to be even better than 2010! And starting in January will help that!

In the bags are Garth the Raccoon, Ryan the Owl, Professor Peacock the Owl, Beauregard the Owl, Bertie the Bat, Tom the Squirrel and MANY MANY more. I promised myself I would be even better prepared this year with my stock so I could take advantage of the Holidays with family :)
Hold me to it!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!
The fresh start of a new year always makes me feel like opportunities are fresh and brand new! It is motivating and relaxing at the same time!
What are your goals or hopes for this year?

We are doing some "housekeeping" here at Red Marionette that will have a few slight changes this year.
Sadly we are holding off on the release of Red Marionette mobiles. The current lines need some adjusting so we are working on tweaking our existing designs before jumping in to some new ones. We are tentatively looking at prototyping a couple this coming spring in to summer.

We are also looking in to the options of Red Marionette wholesaling the ornaments to a select few shops that are interested. If you or someone you know has a boutique that would be perfect for our goodies, please let us know!

I am giving myself a goal to have at least 20 new designs or color combinations in critters, wreaths, tree skirts, stocking, etc! So always watch for new goodies!

Now that the Holidays are over I will try to get back in to posting on this here blog on a regular basis! It feels like my connection and face to all of you out there!

Thanks all, and heres to the New Year!
